Fracture, Vacancy, The Valet

Fracture-*** (Directed by Gregory Hoblit-115 Minutes)
-Anthony Hopkins delivers a performance that is nothing different from Hannibal, and it is mostly Ryan Gosling who shines. Smart script, acted well, and a thriller without any action in it.

Vacancy-*** (Directed by Nimród Antal-80 Minutes)
-A horror film that doesn't have much gore even though the subject matter is brutal. An environment that is creepy and has style, and acted well by leads Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale. Instead of giving us unknown actors that you cannot care about, this is a horror film where you could somehow find yourself rooting for the heros, and not just observing them as they do stupid things.

The Valet-*** (Directed by Francis Veber-85 Minutes)
-A very funny French comedy with Daniel Autiel continuing to prove himself to me as one of the best French actors around. Sure, at times it is a little too concidential and a little too "happy and alright," but then again it is a farce and it is supposed to be as over the top as it possibly could. It manages to do that without being too much, and it is consistantly funny through the brief running time. It is also proof that Alice Taglioni is one of the most beautiful women alive.
